Boise The NCAA accused of "lack of institutional control"


University Boise State has been accused by the NCAA lack of control to its Athletic Department. This accusation is based on the 22 offenses committed since 2005, by of five sports staffs among which is that of football . This is a major violation , therefore, out guilty, the State University of Idaho would be facing a substantial penalty by the NCAA .


The case has come to light in yesterday, but the infractions committee of the NCAA got in touch with college these past few months and responded with a press release published on 2 May. In that statement the President of the University, Bob Kustra, is disappointed and says Boise is committed to the NCAA and fight for their athletic department to strictly comply with the rules. Kustra has already announced that they have made changes and has hired a new officer to regulate the situation.

More serious charges are being dumped on the women's tennis program. The other 4 are accused of minor violations. In the case of football, the NCAA complaint that from 2005 to 2009, the university has hosted, transferred illegally and fed a total of 63 players not yet enrolled as students. The inquiry committee puts the total amount of benefits (money saved) obtained by the players at $ 4,934. In the absence of a decision by the NCAA , the University has been self-imposed sanctions for this year and next, namely the elimination of three of entramientos preseason and the reduction of 3 scholarships, the total of 85 allowed.

There are already several people have complained of double standards to measure by the NCAA , including the CBS journalist Bryan Fisher he wrote yesterday in twitter that the 22 violations in 5 years which accuses Boise State are the average annual committed Ohio State, whose institution has gone scot-free by the case of Jim Tressel and tattoos.

The case was settled on 10 June in a match that will appear authorities Boise State University and coaches responsible for the alleged violations, including football HC, Chris Petersen ( photo).
